Shenandoah Ag Tech, LLC was started in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia with one mission in mind, to help support local farmers and agricultural related businesses meet their full potential with custom made technology solutions.
Founded by Wesley Harper in 2022, who has over a decade of software development experience from working with several world-leading software and technology companies. Now, we have developed an expert team who can design and develop the custom technology solution you or your business has been looking for.
We’re not only software folks, we’re also real farmers too. Wesley grew up on and now operates a 127 acre beef cattle and hay farm in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. This is where the idea was created, to bring together two great passions of agriculture and technology to help solve everyday problems in the Ag world. That’s why our motto is “This is where Agriculture and Technology come together.”
The Family History
The Harper families’ great, great grandfather, Jacob Harper, installed gas powered generators to charge large battery banks in the early 1900s. He used the battery banks to power a small handful of electric light bulbs in his farm house at night, making him one of the first people in the Shenandoah Valley with electric lights, a time before power-lines were ran to this area.
Over 100 years later, Wesley Harper earns a degree in Computer and Electrical Technologies and goes to work for leading-edge companies, while also working on the family beef cattle farm. After 15 years of experience producing world-class computer software and getting his hands dirty on the farm, Wesley decided to bring his passions of technology and agriculture together and started Shenandoah Ag Tech, LLC. Now we’re ready to serve the agricultural community and turn on the lights for people, just like our great, great grandfather Jacob did so many years ago.
